 Retired/Missionary Life. Sunday.

Happy Sabbath!
Here! Have a Jesus Picture! He LOVES YOU!!
Sacrament Meeting. Sunday School. Missionary Correlation Meeting.
And then back home, I took a long, nice nap. Read a bit. Studied. Watched some church videos. And then we settled in and watched a movie. "Ordinary Angels." A great one!
Here! Have another picture of the Idaho Falls Temple.
Hope you had a fulfilling Sabbath!

Retired/Missionary Life. Monday.
Another "Let's Keep Hanna Alive" Day. She spent a good portion of it in the Cancer Hospital getting a Bone Marrow Biopsy. I spent that time walking on the Centennial Trail at Lake CDA (in the rain....) and reading.
We celebrated being done with medical testing for now by going to Texas Roadhouse for decent food.
Picked up the groceries. Filled up with cheaper Idaho gas.
Back at home, we enjoyed a great Palouse sunset, Gussy rolled around in the snow some more, and we watched a pre-recorded football game. North Dakota dang near beat Kansas State. Great game to watch, especially if you like underdogs.
Finally, here! Have a picture of the snow fort our neighbor's grandkids built this weekend. ENJOY!

Retired/Missionary Life. Tuesday.
- First up is a picture of what happens when we shower. Gussy hides under the bed to take a nap. And Frivvy worries about him.
- Missionary District Council. They learned how to do an object lesson.
- Notice our St Patrick's Day green duds.
- After a lunch at Chalet with the Wildings, a couple that serves with us, we went for our walk at Comstock Park. The boys made friends with a White Golden Retriever. (Does that even make sense??)
- Back home, we caught up on the things we would've done yesterday if we hadn't spent most of the day at the hospital. Doing up the family budget, doing the dishes, dealing with some medical bills, paying for tabs on all the vehicles (they all expire within a few weeks of each other........great planning on our part so we can do them in batch!)
- In the evening, we chilled and watched a bit of Heartland. The boys took their places on our respective laps. They think they are lapdogs.
- Before turning in, we had a phone meeting with our mission district leader to go over some things. He checks on us weekly.
No green tomorrow, we promise...

Retired/Missionary Life. Wednesday.
Got up early and headed for town for a Zone Conference/Mission Tour with visiting General Authority, Elder Martinez and his wife. He originally is from Puerto Rico and spoke Spanish. Yes, I spoke Spanish with him. He had a powerful and useful message for us.
They announced that the Lewiston Stake has been split into two Stakes. The work is hastening!!
Favorite part of arrival is all the mission cars with their hoods up waiting for maintenance and inspection.
Two musical numbers. One by the Service Zone and conducted by our nephew, Elder Longhurst. (It was Amazing...)
Group picture. Can you find us in it?
Late afternoon, we had time and it was great weather out, so we hiked on the Centennial Trail. The boys loved the break from the truck.
We met Luigi, Brooklyn, and August for dinner at Hogan's. August was being cute at least part of the time.
The evening/night was spent with Hanna at a Women's Group Social while I read in the truck.
Finally, a moose visited the snowy Highlands.
Long, tiring day, but we came away edified and grateful.

Retired/Missionary Life. Thursday.
Rested. Read and studied. Did things around the house. Took the dogs for a walk. Made a batch of my famous, delicious, Mexican Meatloaf.
Drove to town and taught two lessons. One on Easter and one on going to the temple.
Here! Have a picture of the boys wrestling (again!)

Retired/Missionary Life. Friday.
Today our missionary assignment was to work in the office. We hunkered down with a computer and filled out insurance certification applications for all the apartments in the mission. It was an experience scarily close to filling out a tax return. So we were good at it. 54 applications. And this allowed the Housing Coordinator a day free from such paperwork so he could round up more apartments for missionaries who will be arriving in the mission soon. No pictures were taken of our efforts, but here! Have some pictures of our adorable dogs. And a picture of the three vehicle tabs that all came in the mail together today. (We are so organized that way!). And a picture of the Palouse sunset.
ENJOY!

Retired/Missionary Life. Saturday.
The two main things we did today. 1. We took the Spanish Elders out to eat at Denny's. Great experience! We love these guys! They work so hard and are sacrificing so much. They could be home watching basketball, going to school, or chasing cute girls. But no. They voluntarily do missionary work instead! One is from Utah. One is from Kentucky. And one is from Peru.
Next, we worshipped in our temple. It was Spanish night, so a lot of our friends from our congregation, and the Spanish Congregation downtown, were there. This included the Sister Missionaries that work downtown. Always a great experience to see them, especially in the temple!
Cool Palouse sunset on the way home.
Did our reading and study in the evening. And that's a wrap..........
