How We Do Retirement

Retired Life. Sunday. Easter! On this morning, the women approached the tomb with spices and found it empty. Two angels there told them Christ had risen. HE IS RISEN!! Our Easter: We were up early to go to the church for a last-chance practice with the Choir for today's Easter Performance. The Easter service itself was next and was incredible. Afterwards, we ran home, put the ham in the oven, then took the Sacrament over to Hanna's Mom. (I included a very nice picture of her from the Easter Celebration held at the Assisted Care Facility.) Then we ran back to town to the church where we met with our Stake President and were set apart as full-time missionaries. (We feel a bit overwhelmed with the spirit and excited and can't wait to get to work!) Back at home, I made up a batch of my famous Potato Salad while Hanna created a bunch of deviled eggs, baked some rolls, and put finishing touches on the ham. And the kids arrived.   Retired Life. Sunday. Happy Sabbath! Here, have a Jesus picture! Actually Happy Palm Sunday. On Palm Sunday, Jesus rode into Jerusalem on his donkey, and the crowds welcomed Him with joy, taking off their coats and spreading them on the ground, waving palm leaves, and shouting "Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!" Our day: Sacrament Meeting. Men's meeting (which likely is my last with my congregation for 18 months as I anticipate being assigned to a different congregation when I start our mission next Monday.) Choir Practice. Back home, I fixed a quick lunch, then took a long nap. We then read, watched some church videos, ate some leftovers, and chilled and rested. Our choir is preparing for the Easter Service to be held next Sunday at 11am. Everyone is invited!
