5-31-25 New Friend

  Retired/missionary Life. Sunday. Happy Sabbath!! Here! Have a Jesus Picture! Sacrament Meeting. Men's Meeting. Missionary Meeting. All in Spanish. It's improving. Folks can understand me. I can understand them most of the time, depending on their accent and subject. After church, we stopped by the cemetery and visited Hanna's Dad's Grave. He is in the veteran's part because he served in WWII. His and her Mom's gravestone is the coolest I've ever seen. After a lunch of leftover Beef Soup, we ran over to Hanna's Mom's apartment and took pictures of everything so the siblings can decide what they want and what can be donated. And then we chilled most of the rest of the evening. Read. Napped. Worked on my life history. And I created a map of all the missionary apartments in the entire mission and also the homes of the Stewards. Color Coordinated. So we can see how far they have to drive, how many units they inspect, and make some changes. Fun project. ...

5-24-25 Death. And Zone Conference!

  Retired Missionary Life. Sunday. Here! Have a Jesus Picture. Happy Sabbath! Also, HAPPY MT ST HELENS DAY!! I was in the Provo Missionary Training Center when she became angry and blew in 1980. And Hanna and I CLIMBED her in 2017. Woo Hoo! She was sizzling and steaming that day, but fortunately for us, she did not blow. We spent the first half of our day at Stake Conference getting uplifted by discourses given by our local church leaders and listening to a children's choir. In the afternoon, we drove to Elk and had an early dinner with Del and Ella. Our dogs and their dogs are still trying to figure out how to get along, but mostly did today. And we made it home in time for the sunset. We spent the evening reading and watching a short church video. Sad note. One of Del and Ella's dogs fell very ill shortly after our visit. They frantically drove it to Emergency Pet Care and unfortunately, it had to be put down. Prayers to overcome sadness would be appropriate. For us, the pets...
