2-8-25 Happy Birthday
Retired Life. Sunday.
Here, have a Jesus Picture! It IS Sunday...
So, yea, Sacrament Meeting. Sunday School. Choir Practice. Back home and after lunch, I took a nap. (Day of rest, right?) Then did some reading. Watched a few church videos. Ate leftovers, and then we watched one of the Christian Western Movies. Love's Christmas Journey. Last one in a series of about 17 we have watched. Pretty good movies actually.
That's all.
Retired Life. Monday.
I did stuff around the house today. I put together a new floor lamp for our living room. (AI drew you a picture of me doing so below.) Received a box of paper we ordered and put it all away on the closet shelf. Went for the usual walk with Frivvy. Updated our family bookkeeping and issued financials for Hanna to gawk at. And finished up my Dad's Estate Tax Return.
In the evening, we dined on fried chicken while watching a prerecorded football game, Packers vs Eagles Wildcard Game. I actually cheered for the Packers a couple of times because I felt so bad for them.
Retired Life. Tuesday.
It snowed! Frivvy was thrilled and immediately went out and laid down in it.
After plowing snow off the deck and driveway, we did the usual Tuesday gig. Planned out our week (actually next ten days this time), created menus, prepared shopping list, drove to Worley, played Rummy, ate delicious salads at Red Tail, bought cheap Idaho gas, bought the groceries, drove home, unloaded, put away.
Hanna enjoyed picking out chips and tons of other groceries for our Super Bowl Party. Fun times.
Back at home, we watched a couple of shows and then the second half of the BYU game, aka disaster.
And it is still snowing. And blowing. Trying to find an excuse to drive in it tomorrow some more... #JEEP
Retired Life. Wednesday.
One of my favorite types of days...nothing at all on the schedule! During tax season this was one of the busiest days of the year. Not today...
It snowed thru the night. (Stupid rodent's fault, no doubt. Scared of its own shadow. Give me a break.) But really, I don't mind the snow. I have equipment to deal with it and I wasn't going anywhere anyways.
After plowing the driveway and using the blower on the deck, I spent time today finishing up the taxes, looking for Geocaches to find on our next trip, and relaxing. Oh, and I spent considerable time removing an extension cord from the snow blower. I really need to get those cords and Christmas Lights taken down soon.
Burgers and Dogs for dinner. Literally. My burger is a cross between a BK Whopper and a Zip's Doggoner. Delicious!
Retirement is blissful.
Retired Life. Thursday.
Yes. We had to use an alarm this morning. Never fun when you are retired. But we had to go to town.
I had a Doctor's appointment for annual physical. He thinks I'm doing great. Then we drove to the pharmacy to pick up some drugs for Hanna. Then to Winco looking for some food storage, which we did not find. Lunch at Jenny's Cafe, including a few rounds of Rummy. Then we worshipped in the temple. Frivvy got a walk around the church parking lot and was happy to play in the snow.
That was our day. I took a picture when we arrived at the temple and another one when we came out because it was getting dark already. I was going to choose the best one and post it, but they both look pretty good. So here, have two! Plus Hanna wanted a selfie too.
Retired Life. Friday.
We joined bunches of other old, retired folks for breakfast at Red Tail. Good day to have the fire going. Rummy. Steak and eggs.
We went home via Plummer and walked on the Trail of the CDAs. A bit chilly, but it was sunny, so that took the edge off it.
In the afternoon, I plowed snow, sent in the taxes, did the final planning for our Atlanta trip, and then took down a bunch of the Christmas Decorations. The exception being those that are held in place with stakes in the ground. I was really happy when we set those up because the ground was still soft. Frozen like a rock now though. Gonna take special equipment or wait until thaw. Oh, and there was a nap in there somewhere too.
Watched a 1969 Western Movie for our date night.
And four years ago today, Frivvy was born, during the Super Bowl. Greatest dog ever! I fixed him a plateful of steak and treats which he enjoyed immensely. And we took tons of pictures of him today. Enjoy!
Retired Life. Saturday.
Nothing on the calendar. Just hanging around the house. The pictures tell the story.
I fixed French Toast for breakfast.
It was time to fill my pill containers. No worries. It's all vitamins and supplements to keep me healthy.
I hung my Christmas presents up on the wall. The eagle was from Justin and the Jeep from Del and Ella. Made out of metal. And they didn't collude or plan. It just happened.
I also hung up our souvenirs from Chile on the "Mission Wall". Can you pick out the four items that we got recently in Chile vs the ones I brought home when I was 19?
I also hung up the rack in the garage so we have a place for our large garden tools. Much better than them falling all over the floor.
Excitement occurred when one of our neighbors had a minor sledding accident. I was on the deck when I heard him yelling to call 911. Hanna did the honors and had them on the phone while we rushed to see if we could help.
Sweet & Sour Beef Briscuit Stew for dinner. Yummy!
